- Your hosts are all Windows or Mac.
GaiaDesk is the better pick if
- You need to reach Linux machines as well as Macs and PCs.
- You connect from a browser, a phone or a borrowed computer.
- You support other people, with approval prompts and an audit log.
- You want a terminal, file transfer and a CLI for scripts and AI agents.

Install the host on each computer you reach
Download GaiaDesk for macOS, Windows or Linux and sign in. It runs beside Parsec, so you can switch one machine at a time.
Set an unattended password on your own machines
Settings → Unattended access. With it you connect with no prompt, after a reboot and with the app closed (turn on the background service).
Connect from a browser tab
Open gaiadesk.net/app on any computer or phone, enter the 9-digit address and the code or password. Nothing to install on that side.
Bring the team over
On Team, invite people, set roles and share the address book. Once everyone is connecting through GaiaDesk, uninstall Parsec.
Parsec alternative questions.
- Is GaiaDesk fast enough for video work?
- The desktop app streams hardware HEVC over a native connection with its own pacing and error correction. On the host, choose Smooth video or Sharp text under Settings → Picture. For competitive gaming, a dedicated game-streaming tool is the better fit.
- Can GaiaDesk host on Linux?
- Yes. The host runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, with x86-64 and ARM64 builds for Linux.
- Is GaiaDesk free for personal use?
- Yes, including unattended access, 5 saved devices and one session at a time.
- Can I connect without installing anything?
- Yes, from any modern browser. Install the desktop app only when you want the sharpest picture or want that computer to be reachable too.
- Does it support multiple monitors?
- Yes. Switch between screens or see them all, each at its own resolution.
