Which one fits.
TeamViewer may suit you better if
- You need its large catalogue of integrations, device management and IoT products.
- You support many host platforms beyond desktop computers.
- Your organisation already has an annual agreement and its processes built around it.
GaiaDesk is the better pick if
- You want month-to-month billing instead of an annual commitment.
- You connect from many different computers and do not want to install a client on each one.
- You want unattended access to your own computers on the free plan.
- You automate your machines with scripts or AI agents through the CLI and MCP server.

Install the host on each computer you reach
Download GaiaDesk for macOS, Windows or Linux and sign in. It runs beside TeamViewer, so you can switch one machine at a time.
Set an unattended password on your own machines
Settings → Unattended access. With it you connect with no prompt, after a reboot and with the app closed (turn on the background service).
Connect from a browser tab
Open gaiadesk.net/app on any computer or phone, enter the 9-digit address and the code or password. Nothing to install on that side.
Bring the team over
On Team, invite people, set roles and share the address book. Once everyone is connecting through GaiaDesk, uninstall TeamViewer.
TeamViewer alternative questions.
- Is GaiaDesk cheaper than TeamViewer?
- It depends on your team and on TeamViewer's current offer, so compare both pricing pages. What is fixed on our side: Free for personal use, Pro $12 and Team $28 per seat per month, billed monthly, with no annual commitment.
- Can I cancel GaiaDesk anytime?
- Yes, from the billing portal in Settings. The plan stays active until the end of the month you have paid for.
- Does GaiaDesk work behind corporate firewalls?
- Yes. It connects peer to peer when it can and falls back to an encrypted relay on strict networks. The relay cannot read the traffic it carries.
- Can I roll GaiaDesk out to many machines?
- Yes. With Enterprise you ship the official signed installer with a provisioning bundle that connects each machine to your team, applies your branding and locks the settings you choose. See enterprise deployment.
- Do the people I support need a licence?
- No. Paid seats are for the people who connect for work. The computer you help runs the free GaiaDesk host.
